I Love to Eat My Toes || Week in Review

This week was filled with so many amazing little moments! I wanted a place where I could keep track of the many happenings of my week, and include photos that capture those moments. To me, it's the moments that I remember. It's the tiny moments that count. My little boy is growing up so fast, and I want to remember the cute little things that he does. Along with him, my life is constantly changing and growing as well and even through the good, the bad, and the ugly, I don't want to forget it. Moments. Time has not enough.

Little moments like this remind me just how much he is learning and growing. It's so incredibly simple, yet so telling. Less than a year ago he was born. He could do absolutely nothing on his own. And now, 10 months later, here he is with a brand new toy and he already knows that if you put the ball up at the top, it will slide down to the very bottom. He doesn't knock everything over or mess around or throw the ball here and there. He, almost calculatingly, knows that "this is where the ball goes, and this is where it ends up". Even when the tower gets knocked over, he knows to stand it back up; all on his own. When the ball flies across the room, he speedily crawls over to it, brings it back, and once again watches it go down the tower. I'm absolutely amazed how much this little brain has learned in just a short few months.

Two words- That. Smile.
I love it! It lights up my day and tugs at my heart strings. I don't know how you couldn't love a boy with a smile like that and eyes that simply glimmer. I especially don't know how you couldn't love a boy who crawls through a cardboard tunnel. Then to combine the two? Oh, my heart.

Also, today, my little peanut found his way to his favorite person when he came home from school. Cayson has always had this unbreakable love for his Papa, and he now has figured out where his Pop hangs out when he gets home from school. My dad comes home, Cayson hears a TV in the other room, he switches his crawling speed to turbo, and before I know it, I come in to find this- Cayson and Papa eating afternoon snacks together. One of my favorite sights.

This amazing day ended with a Nutella party. Well....it was a party for him, anyways. He loves chocolate. He loves making a mess. Put those two together and what do you get? The biggest chocolate party I have ever seen. YUM. I actually don't know if he loves chocolate because he really likes all kinds of foods. Everything from pure lemons to raw onions to spicy peppers. He doesn't even flinch! He just loves it all. Except for bread. Toast, donuts, any sort of bread-like food, he's just not a fan. Out of everything else, it's funny that's the one thing he dislikes. Oh well. A boy's gotta do what a boy's gotta do.

Oh heavens, this boy just exudes happiness! Sucking on his toes is one of his favorite sports. That, and having mom push him on a walk everyday. Mom, Cayson, and Puppy Tillie. Our daily walks are some of my favorites moments that I'll always cherish. I know he won't want me to walk with him every day for the rest of his life, so for now, I'll cherish it. Those tiny toes though.....I can't get over how stinkin cute they are. Even though he's been cursed with his mom's gigantic big toe, they're awfully cute right now. So I think I'll cherish that too.

These posts will probably be filled with a LOT of Cayson. Because I love him. He really is the love of my life. But I should probably include other moments as well, so here's to new hair! I wear wigs. The secret's out. I've always had super short, tight, curly hair. So tight that it's literally impossible to comb through. When I was younger, other black people would say that they had never seen hair as tight and curly as mine. The longest it's ever been was probably....4-5 inches? Maybe. I've always envied women with long, beautiful hair. Until I realized that my very own hair is beautiful too. It's different, but beautiful. I wear it short and natural, I wear it in braids or a weave, I wear it in a scarf, and lately I've been wearing it in a wig! I LOVE this new wig. Long, cute, curly- perfect.

March. 10 & 14. 2015
To end, of course I'll be posting a picture of my cute boy again! #SorryNotSorry. He used to cuddle a lot when he was first born. Then a few months later he got out of that cuddling phase. But now, I have my cuddle bug back again! Just this week, he's started to want to cuddle again. Even if it was in the craziest positions like in the hammock picture {and no, he's not asleep in that photo. Just hanging in a hammock}. I just love him. Like.....words can't describe. I absolutely love and adore you, Cayson Cole. These are the moments that I'll cherish all my life.
